The article discusses the economic aspects of the problems of using water resources for irrigation in agriculture. Current problems that have arisen due to various reasons are analyzed. The article widely covers the practice of using water resources for agriculture abroad. Foreign experience is offered to improve irrigation, which can directly positively affect the results of harvesting. Mechanisms for improving activities are also being considered, the implementation of which during the irrigation process will improve the efficiency of harvesting and will also allow saving water resources when delivering them to the end consumer (land user). Also, the article recommends a mechanism for involving the public and water users in joint activities on training, methodological activities, as well as ways to attract additional financial resources and provide government support
